I'm really excited about getting them in. just worried about the aim, hope I don't piss any oncoming traffic off. how did you guys aim your HIDs in the stock reflectors?
You're trying to turn that little gear thing using the 'blades' of the screwdriver as teeth to turn that gear, i.e. stick the screwdriver in perpendicular to the gear's axis of rotation
Thanks Curtis. I was actually wondering, other than getting someone to drive in the opposite direction to you - is there a general rule of thumb as to how high/low the lights should be aimed? Mainly with the stock reflectors, i'm kinda expecting the light to be scattered.
Damn, I wish I had the HIDs with me already so I could just try it already!!
Thanks again for the guides too Curtis.. I think i've seen your ride around Curtin uni a couple of times, I work in Technology Park.
Orly? I'm a stockie lol! Did u seeme get a fine the othery day?? T.T Dam mofos didn't accept my appeal
THere's is no rule of thumb as such, there's ADR angles you could use, but they're too glarey. Just aim them down and go for a bit of trial and error.
Turn the lights on at night, walk back about 20m or so and look at the glare. Mine quite low but i'm still too glarey IMO.. I'm not going any lower though, too dangerous do myself. Nobody highbeams me, so i take it that it's ok...?
Just fitted them and it is a sw**e of a job and of course the clips that hold the inner plastic cover on the wings break so will have to get some of them was pleased I was fitting HID bulbs and not just replacements for the work invloved.
i popped the hood earlier this arvo and realised that it was impossible to install it from there. i'm contemplating taking the entire wheel off for easier access. where did you buy them replacement clips from? Please don't say honda
I would think it would be impossible not to break them, of the four I removed three are completly broken and one is back but not in one piece. Again I would think Honda would be the only place to get them. I didnt take the wheels off just turned them on full lock.
damn, everything from their service center is $$$. I'll try to be very careful. the package arrived today but i've got no time until Friday to install. will let you know how it goes.
I did stumble on a really good tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-nkzmrqS7Q that explains it really well. they recommend taking the wheel off
