Im not too sure on that, ive seen a few steam cleaned n they have the same result, this way is just cheaper

i steam cleaned mine. it didnt fade.
but it wasnt as effective as i would like because previous owner never cleaned it.

what i did was;
- used foam upholstery cleaner (instead of woolite).
- then followed the usual steps
- then steamed cleaned
- vacuumed.

voila! good as new.
