i think its because NZ dont make their own locally produced cars (like australia makes ford and holden), so they have no choice but to import from japan and australia...

when i was there a few years ago, i saw so many early 90's jap turbo cars, it wasnt funny

Yeah but thats a standard Euro and not a Euro Luxury...

[QUOTE=aaronng] It would be interesting to see the difference in fuel economy that 3200rpm at 100km/h will make compared to the 2.4L's 2400rpm in 100km/h. ![QUOTE]

typical close ratio box for Euro R.
similar rev to S2000 in 6th.
I prefer the 6th gear to be an overdrive like CL9 6MT or BMW's 6th.
I mean, do we need 6th gear to be so short? we down shift if we going to overtake in single lane HWY anyway.... maybe I am wrong, correct me please
    my 6MT Is200 is doing 3000rpm @100km/h... a bit annoying. 4AT only doing ~2600rpm @ 100km/h

Thats true, you wouldnt need 6th to be that short.

    I just tested my 5spd auto: in 5th, 2100rpm cruises at 100km/hr.

I got a buddy of mine that has a close ratio gearbox on his S2000 and on six gear doing 100km/hr his sitting on 5000 rpm... But then S2k has cutoff of 9000 rpm so still a lot of play left... Actually its the S2k next to my car in the avator...

Thats why he only gets 400km out of a full tank...

    Now thats ridicolous uhehehehe...

Have no idea.. He hasn't even tried topspeed with the close ratio gearbox.. S2k standard does a top speed of 230km/hr if i aint mistaken... So it would be shorter then that...

If I remember from the DVD Yfin lent me, you can swap the CL7 GearBox over to the CL9... Mmmm... Closer ratio = Faster Pick-up
