Thats very thick beez, the only reason Id be using that is if your motor is already burning a thinner viscosity. A preventative measure if you will.

    Its terrible !

Majority of people use 0-40, 5-30 10-40 for NA 4 cylinder.

What you are using is way too thick.

I use Castrol Edge 5-30 for my civic as its only a D series, but for my Type R I use Castrol Edge 0-40

You're engine will be running more sluggish also with that thickness.

I'm hopeless with oil's Alexx, guess I just never learnt...lol...too thick aye, damn.I heard a 'clunk' in the engine when i turned it off this morning,U know that sound older cars can make when U turn them off? just once 'clunk',I had never heard that before and it got me wondering why, maybe it's the oil then?

Damn,it feels sooo thin in the bottle, like real easy to swish around in the bottle...

    Thanks guys!!

That's what I meant by "why the viscosity?"

I use Nulon 10w 40 like I said, it's ideal for the Civic, and about $10 per litre.

    Thanks tai,great link!

    I just some 10W-40 Nulon,6L for $66.

I need to make myself a bit clearer too...When i first put the oil in I filled it 1cm below the full mark and felt good,I topped it upto the full mark and it didn't feel as good BUT up high the car is more reponsive.I won't change it just yet! Maybe a case of getting the levels right (but doubt it!)

Here's a lil' vid of the oil, tell me what U think please!!

I swapped in the 10-40.Car runs much better!

U know when the FITV fouls up,the car surges? It was doing that with the thicker oil.

    Thanks again!

I did always wanna run some oil through it just for 500 k's or so to clean it out, swapped the filter too!

yeah if you havent flushed the oil properly, do an early oil change at around 3000-4000kms.

IT is not recommended to run mixed engine oil ratings.

Also a good oil filter is reocmmended each change, OEM has never had any probs.
