    Blowing smoke need help???

I have a civic eg hatch 1.6 v tec my car is blowing smoke out of the exhaust and I'm finding I'm loosing oil but their is no sign of and oil leaks. I think it mite be my valve stem seals but I haven't had a look at it yet. Is their any other suggestions why this is happening cheers

im no machanic but heres my shot.
maybe its due to wear n tear.
rebuild would most likely fix that prob.

without knowing what color the smoke is, odds are its either blown gasket or piston rings have started to give in, resulting in blow by smoke..... if its black smoke, its due to fuel mixture, running rich, white is oil problems an bluish is gasket problem, or was it other way around?

Actually it's bluey black haha. If I have blown my gasket wouldthat be the reason why I'm goig through so much oil. Car has less than 200 000 ks

could also mean ur rings have shat them selfs, an burning oil, resulting in lost of oil, thats the most common signs of needing a rebuild, u could run thicker oil to try an stop the smoke, but that would effect performance to keep the car a little bit longer till cash comes along

when my brother blew his turbo, an the seals where letting oil burn, he ran 20w-50 or was it 30w, cant remember but it helped a bit, BUT its not to say it will fix the problem, its a very minor banded solution, an one i dont recommend that u use for a long period of time, it could also harm the engine, so dont take my words lol....get a leak down test an compression test to varify the piston rings are indeed gone an this will tell you for sure if u need a rebuid or even a head gasket replacement

Didn't want to start a new thread so reviving this one.

I have a 1994 EG5 on 220xxx kms. It's currently blowing blueish white smoke + oil + fuel when I rev it past 6ishy RPMs. No smoke at the lights or normal driving.

So far I've done an oil change and ran a compression test, it returned 170 180 170 180, through a bit of research it seems I'm likely looking at worn piston rings and blown headgasket??

Nevertheless I'm all ears to opinions, this car is intended for the track, I really only bought it for the chassis (intending for a conversion) although it would have been nice to get some track time with the D series, I will weigh up how much it will cost me to fix and see if fast tracking the engine conversion would be the more economical solution.

Here is a pic of the blood swear and tears leaking from my eg.
