Yep...unfortunately the economy world sucks like that

firstly it is the correct kit. mugen replica for cu2. what the problem was that the side skirts arent a perfect fit. the main problem being they dont slide under the door crack easily. theyre too thick. when trying them on i cudnt even close the door cause it kept jamming or sliding off/out.
So i had the bright idea of ripping off the double sided tape (which was shit quality anyway) cause it might reduce the thickness. which it did and it slid in alot better, but still wasnt a perfect fit. Also, there was a huge gap between the bottom of the car and the bottom fold of the skirt. i think your meant to screw the skirts onto the car there.
My mechanic said they can solve the first problem by cutting off the bits which jam the door and secure the skirts through the ends and bottom and use double sided tape for the outfacing parts. and for the gap at the bottom, they can pad it with some other material to bridge the gap between the skirt and the car to secure it.
but thats alot of work for what should be a simple process
problem number 3
they were testing this with one side skirt. THe other one was still in packaging when i got home (had to give up for the day, pack up and calm myself down) and i noticed the other skirt had a bloody crack along the top edge for a small section. -_- so even if i decided to go ahead and install this ghetto style, there would be a crack on one side.
problem number 4
the front mugen lip fits perfectly and snugly, but its a bit too snug. the whole thing looks fantastic, except.......where theres a curve just under our headlight, the lip kit isnt moulded properly and theres a gap between the car and the lip (will post pictures). The curvature of the top part of the lip is too curved compared to the curvature of the car.
Basically this is a minor problem, as they can fill the gap with silicon and paint it the same as my car. it will just look like its intentionally moulded to be not flat -_- sigh.
However i suggested they heat it up or something and reshape it to be flatter, but they said that if u push in the curve at that point, another section along the edge will just pop out to offset the pressure.
and finally the icing on the cake....
...they bloody did not send me my rear lip kit....><
basically i had ordered mugen front and sides, with a type S rear lip. They mustve screwed my order up and thought i only wanted the mugen parts despite my constant reconfirmations.
To make matters worse, i bought this like 6 months ago, so paypal buyer protection doesnt apply after 60 days, and if ur wondering why i didnt check the goods. its because they told me everything fit in 2 boxes, and when i went back to china to check out the goods, they were in two boxes. one long box for the skirts and one huge U shaped box for the front lip kit. I had assumed that the U shape fit the rear lip kit too, and since it was about to be shipped again, i didnt want to damage the box.
so now, im faced with a few options....buy a new side skirt from bodykitkingdom...except im kinda scarred about replicas now. But since people here have bought and fitted his stuff, they should be ok then right? Did anybody had any issues at all with fitament?
i can also try to chase up the sellers. but no way am i sending the stuff back, i just want my money back for the rear lip they charged me for but didnt deliver.
or just give up. I doubt anyone will want the side skirts, but the front lip is most definitely useable. Id probably just firesale it cause if im gunna give up on it id rather just give up on the whole thing *cries*
anyway, do you guys think the front lip at least is salvageable?
btw pics (had to turn them into urls cause theyre high res, you can blow them up to see clearer):
u can see how i cudnt close the door properly. then after i removed the tape it slid in but there were scratches on the kit where the door kept bumping into it.
with the front lip its hard to see the gap face on (thats a good thing i guess) but top down easily noticeable.
kwang, how was the fit of paul's kit when u test fitted? did you try the skirts too?
and any idea how much he's charging for the skirts? hopefully some ozbargain deal? lol i was the one who told him about this forum aaaaaaaages ago
Man that's just unfortunate! Paypal Buyer protection is 45days from date of payment I believe. Gay I know. They won't do anything about any transactions after 45days from the date of payment (speaking from experience). You should have lodged a dispute before the 45day period saying it hasn't arrived - I think that's one way to get your money back. You can try lodge one now and show them an invoice/delivery note with the date of arrival if you want. Not sure if they will do anything though. Best of luck with everything man, hopefully you can get a good portion of your money back!
As for Paul's kit, I am pretty sure that it did fit well. I can't really remember -> it was a couple months back. But I am pretty sure the kit had a lot less "sharper" edges than yours, coz the skirt doesn't look the same. And did yours come with a primer coat on it? Seeing it's white. And is yours made from Polypropylene? I'll find my pics and post it on for you.
Haha so YOU'RE the one he was talking about. He told me some Sydney dude told him about OzHonda when I met him.
edit: here is the pic -> I couldn't find one that was "up close". If you want I can organise something to get the kit tested again, and take better photos for ya. Sorry dude, can't remember exactly if it fit properly or not. But as you can see it doesn't "bend outward" like yours, which is a better fit. OH and the BIG difference -> as you can see mine is slightly different to yours. Yours is a "more accurate" replica than the one I tried/fitted. As you can see the front part of the Genuine Mugen skirt also has the "curve up" like yours, not too sure what to call it haha. Whereas mine doesn't!

Thanks kwang (wont quote ur post cause its so long lol)
wow i didnt realise that pauls mugen didnt have the double raised ends. The one i have is PU material so its super flexible (which makes me wonder why i cant just heat it up and reshape the damn thing.
I emailed him last night asking him for a price quote (hopefully he remembers me lol). but he hasnt got back to me yet. I might buy the side skirts and rear lip from him just to save the pain of thinking about it any longer. Hopefully he does a decent price.
In other news, as if i havent been burnt enough by importing replicas.
Remember that other supplier that also pimped the replicas as well? They were called JSpec.com.sg (i bought from JC sportline...totally different countries). Well anyway i emailed them last night because they were telling me they were looking to make replica Mugen Wing type spoilers (thats right the one which costs $1.4k for genuine...for a wing....). A few months back they didnt have stock and were trying to test fit the G8 accord sedans mugen wing to see if it fit. so i was just seeing how that worked out
Turns out they did get stock of Cu2 mugen wings. And he emailed back saying "overwhelming demand, first batch, all 12 sold out" but he said the first batch were without emblem slot (you know how the sides of the mugen wing has that slot for the badge). He has a second batch which does have the slot. Price is USD $140 per piece. At 10% of the price it seems worth it. Im emailing him back regarding shipping.
If all turns out well i can finnally have that mugen wing ive been wanting for ageesss. But i have to somehow sell my genuine modulo wing lol
Anyhow, even greater news, he said he also has new stock of the Mugen full front bumper(yes the $3500 one sanyuh has!) didnt specify pricing cause it was an FYI. so i enquired about that too. Will post more info once he replies.
Here are some pics he sent me

$250 a piece sounds good (thats nearly the price of my whole kit lolz) hmm what about for his type s kit? I noticed that his type s side skirts look nearly the same as the mugen ones you had on. are u sure theyre not the same thing? Does paul do painting for u?
In regards to the mugen wing, wouldnt it be cheaper to buy directly from the supplier? and split the cost of shipping. buying from paul would just add a middle mans margin wouldnt it. or am i missing something here...

Haha true true mate. His type s skirt is slightly different. it's a bit more curve on the raised end. I'm at work right now, if you want I can whip you a quick image in photoshop to clarify the difference for you . And nah Paul doesn't do the painting, he suggests a place called "A J Performance" which is well known in Brisbane as an importer/panel beater for cars. That's where nesterjester got his kit painted.
I asked him to check with his supplier again to see if they have it, seeing he's an wholesaler they might sell it to him for cheaper overall (parts and shipping - if he buys bulk). And I'd rather have it "tested" before I bought it if you know what I mean. Who knows, the supplier who told you about the wing may be sly like your previous :P...see what Paul says anyway~

Im in sydney lol so cant use AJ. iTs fine i know a place in sydney. But just for reference do u noe how much AJ charges for full kit paint? so that i can haggle lol
if you dont mind, the photoshop image would be great. so i can compare the difference. if the type s is similar i can just get that cause its cheaper
Also, good point about him being able to get it cheaper and testing etc. Does paul have a euro himself for testing etc? (he'll probably use you as a test dummy haha)
and in a bit of good news. The supplier in china replied to my email just now and offered to refund $100USD cause they confirmed with their warehouse that it was never shipped. I wont argue with that! surprised they came through. Money towards new gear. yay

So has anyone gone the rear wing spoiler and front underspoiler from the parts bin?
I have put both these on my CU2 along with colour coded flaps and the door protection trim along with the mud spats.
Am a little disappointed with the front underspoiler as it really does not extend down any further than the standard bumper but the false ducts look ok.
Cost was pretty much what I expected. Think the rear wing was $700, front under spoiler was $650 and the door protection / styling was $300. Mud spats cost another $200. So all up $1850
If I can work out how to post some pic's I will (have read the threads on how to, just need to find the time!!)

are you talking about the OEM modulo parts?
The fake ducts are a good place to put led strips
