Does that use alot more petrol revving at 410 at 100 km? When I first got my S I remember freaking out seeing it sitting at 3500 at 100 km, I thought that was freakishly high
So what is all the parts that I need for this mod?? Eg bearings. Where from?? And how much?? And lastly delivery time?? Cheers
Depending on the condition of your current diff, you may need to change the bearings. Kia 4.777 can be had new from Kia for about $500, lead time is about 3-4 weeks or possibly longer. Allow for new tailshaft bolts, replace hub seals and gasket. However generally a good diff place will include and source new parts in there price, should be about $300+
White AP1 posted the part# at the beginning of the post. IMO also install a solid pinion collar. These can be had through a number performance based companies in the US & Japan. But i think a local diff centre will be able to help you out with a pinion collar. But generally allow about $1000 drive in, drive out.
Mine was approx 1500 drive in drive out. Regardless of diff condition most early s2000 would have close to or more than 100k on the diff, so once your diff is apart it makes sense to rebuild it. I replaced seals, crush collar, front and rear bearings changed diff fluid twice, once after the first 1000kms of run in and had the yellow jacket speed calibrated. So drive in drive out for a complete build and speed calibrated budget 1200/1500.
sweet.. i got the gears, and the seals, crush collar, front and rear bearings.. rdy to go.. but i just blew my gearbox.. so.. there goes about 3k... might have to wait a lil while to install it
