Hahahahah I laughed so damn hard where someone said is that for second hand or brand new! It's like get with the times :/ it's nearly 2011 the b16 engine starting being produced in like 90's and stopped in 99-00? Or maybe earlier lol anyways I'm gonna look into b16 or b18 swaps for my ek1 also however a h22a looks like it will chomp but will be a tad heavy i think

H22 completely changed the suspension and handling characteristics of the car because there's more weight at the front, however dont hold me to it as i dont have that much experience of it and am just going by what i know

b18 over b16, same price, dunno why anyone would pay the same price for a smaller engine... there are more teggys out there than vtir civics, so odds are u will find a b18 cheaper than b16a motor

An also many dont factor in as said labour as well as registering the engine to the vehicle

i was quoted no kidding 7k! than another place wanted something like 6.5k for b18 motor, drive in an drive away.... ah joys oh owning a non b-series car lol

6.5k isnt that bad for a B18 swap if it was a C7 is u consider buying it would prob cost around the 4 to 5k mark.

cos u still need to factor in if some people might do a service (belts) as well as just installing.

just the standard b18c2... put maybe another 1.5k for c7

yea true about the water pumps, belts etc.. .as well as a new clutch, since the engine is out

you can get a halfcut for 2k in brisbane.

and most places charge 600 dollars labour or max 1000

    ????

theres heaps of places that would do it for 3k. its not 2005 anymore

lol in saying all that, i would spend bit more coin lol and change the shit. b16 probably been sitting in the docks for 9000 years hahaha

but ive put in a engine once before and changed nothing at all, oil filter was even the same.

not one thing was changed except bigger front mount. and it went hard for ever and is still going hard with next owner. i only changed gearbox oil and engine oil since there was none when i got it.

it was the cheapest fuken thing ive ever done but the best fun too

they aren't the same price......b16a/a2 go for 2.5 tops
    b18c2 goes for 3.5

and also factor in some people want to register their car with the new motor say in a gli shell which is a 1.5lt
b16 wouldn't require engineering certificate as the b18c2 would.
