    Rattling Noise from DC2

Hi everyone. My DC2 has recently started making a rattling noise from what sounds like in the passenger floor mat area.

Some interesting observations. It only happens when I'm deaccelerating, clutching in, or cruising. When I give it some gas, the noise dissapears till I deacelerate again. I've pretty much ruled out wheel bearings cause the noise is always there as long as the wheel is moving.

Anyone got any ideas where I can start looking to fix this problem? Thanks

Could be your cat heat shield. Tighten it or remove it. Try that and let us know!

Cheers for that! I'll try that tomorrow, i gotta be careful not to park on dry grass though or else I could lose my car!

I just took a picture today. There doesn't look like there's a heat shield there, but I could be wrong cause I'm noob. The picture looks like there's one but I don't really see anything around the cat...

I've gone under the car and hit the cat a few times and no noises like in the cabin.

you've probably already looked but there could be a heatshield above the cat, and there are more running down the exhaust, i removed all mine when i put my exhaust on, only downside is the floor gets hot after a while haha.

could it be a "clutch buzz?" try searching that here on the forums.

    good luck man

Hold the end of your muffler and give it a shake. I had similar symptoms and it was because the inside of the cat had come loose and would rattle at walking pace/idle/around 1800rpm.
