    Clunking noise from DC2

Hi everyone. My DC2 has recently started making a clunking noise from what sounds like in the passenger floor mat area.

Some interesting observations. It only happens when I'm deaccelerating, clutching in, or cruising. When I give it some gas, the noise dissapears till I deacelerate again. I've pretty much ruled out wheel bearings cause the noise is always there as long as the wheel is moving.

Anyone got any ideas where I can start looking to fix this problem? Thanks

With out hearing it, i would look at the sway bar link. Being an older car, the links start to get free play and can start to make a clunking noise.

Wow the gearbox! Geez that's not good at all !

So how did you end up fixing it? Did it cost an arm and a leg?
