Help Needed: d16a8 to d16y4 conversion

So I just put on the d16a8 box to the y4 block. I ess measuring and the input splines, flywheel, clutch etc were all exactly the same. I also put it in gear and span the crank and this turned the outputs. I'm thinking that it is going to work?

you misunderstand posts above -

the d16a8 gearbox WILL fit another D series engine.....but you need the D16a8 driveshafts (L/R and midshaft) and the flywheel and clutch from the d16a8 too. Make sense ?

Works fine, sorry had the swap and everything all done a couple of months ago. Pretty good setup, drives well, very reliable, etc. I love it. I will have pics up as soon as I can.
