Anyway they are Honda specialists and overall very good no bs mechanics. Totally honest about your car and what it does and doesn't need done to it. I took my CL9 there for its 80k service and it wound up costing ~$460 for the lot (cheapest in Brisbane by a long shot as it is an intensive service). They did a very comprehensive appraisal of its condition and didn't try to rip me off.

As an FYI they stock Honda Genuine Parts and Fluids for all their services.

Will continue to service my car there and would definitely go a fair bit out of my way to do so. So 10/10 from me.

Just throwing it out there too that if anyone is looking for the cheapest available servicing you should go to http://www.fixedpricecarservice.com.au/ and they will compare mechanics in your area on prices for a particular logbook service. Really handy!!
You know which oils they used?

Not sure, but one of my mates had a bad experience servicing with them. One of the mechanics actually drove his 2010 Honda Civic against a corner or something, completely scratched the side of his car/doors. That might be just his luck though lol.

I took my CU2 to Austral Honda at Newstead...10k service was $210, for pretty much the lot, tyre rotation + Premium Honda Oil change etc etc.

    Hope that helps!

There's 2 grades of Honda oil. I think they would've used the cheap Dino FEO, since the full synthetic is like 3-4 times the price of the Dino.

Austral don't use genuine Honda oil the last time I serviced with them. I remember the use either castrol magnetec or mobil semi synthetic

Oh...well I didn't pay particular attention. I'm sure they would have no problem if you specified the oil to use though.

Besides, I was always told that the oil you use doesn't matter as much as how frequently it and the filters are changed.

Best to supply your own oil. That way you know exactly what oil is in your engine. Also ask them for the leftover oil to confirm they actually used it.

There's oil and then there's oil. If it doesn't matter much there wouldn't be soon many types of oil around. It makes a hellova lot of difference on the road performance and even fuel consumption as I had found out lately.

    2012 bump!

My euro is creeping up to it's 80k service, and was wondering how much people paid for it and their experiences. The 80k service is classified as a major yes?

Yes, major service, quotes seem to vary wildly!

As a guide, I got mine done at Larke Hoskins Homebush in Sydney for $462, supply own oil. Original quote was $628 using their oil, including an auto trans flush (which I declined as I had flushed it myself prior to that).

Car seemed healthier post-service, valve clearance adjustment must've done it some good. Only gripe was that they'd screwed with all my radio settings! :P
