This fake wheels discussion seems to be heavily biased from people who have genuine rims. If you hit a pole damaging your rims is the last thing i'd be worried about. I've never seen a pothole (especially one big enough to damage a wheel) on a road such as a freeway, and it would have to be a serious pothole. Its more likely to be on a road that has a 60 or less limit. Also the chances of the tyre flying off the rims or something so wild happening that you lose control of your car and crash at that speed are pretty low. Not to mention that you could force the council or whoever is responsible for the road to pay the charges (I know people who have done this). Even if you just lost control on a smooth road and hit a gutter and smashed the rim, big deal a replacement rim is like 2-300 dollars? I wouldnt use these wheels for track use but for street use I could definately justify the price. What if you had a 2-3k set of rims and you hit a gutter? You'd still want to replace that rim and the consequences of hitting the gutter are going to be the same safety wise. Please keep in mind I'm referring to mainly rota wheels here and not endorsing other lesser quality fake brands as I dont have any experience with them. Also beautiful car jeremy, jealous of your foggies!
My mate buckled both his wheels going through small pot holes at 60kms an hour. They were XXR which afaik is part of Rota? And you can usually pick up a decent set of genuine rims 2nd hand for half the price

I dunno but xxr's are cheaper than rota's, and you can call the council and make them pay for any damage. I wouldnt say that genuine rims are immune to damage from potholes either. I'm sure they'd cop some kind of ding/scratch which would piss you off on a $500+ rim. My mate has a xr5 focus and his rim snapped on a pothole and scraped his under carriage and the council paid for it. Their a pretty good quality car too
smells pretty good actually, better than my old car that smelt like burnt pube. I love the smell when i turn the a/c on!
Got it back from the mecho, he used 2litre motul gear/lsd oil and reckons it wasnt enough need to top up with another 1/2litre so gotta get another bottle. some issues with suspension one serious problem is my left strut is leaking oil, hopefully aint too expensive. chassis has done 300xxxklms so that explains it lols. should be done spraying my eg6 spoiler soon, ill smack some pics up when its done!
