Alternatively buy a k&n drop in panel and remove the bottom section (there's 3 sections in the stock airbox) of the air box using a dremel, just cut along the line... That way no more restrictive race track which the air needs to be sucked through, still looks legal (filter is now exposed but only if you look from under the car), more induction noise and still mounts neatly..
Down side is you need to modify the stock airbox, and it doesn't look as cool as if you were to had CF parts in your engine bay...
