Torque mount bracket and flywheel cover interchangeability
Hi,
I have recently purchased an eg with a b16a(eg6) fitted, but it doesn't have the front torque mounts.
I would like to get the brackets and mounts from the wrecker but unsure which model i can use. They look like D series ones, the bracket on the block i am quite sure only b series.
Can i use a d series transmission side torque mount?
Can i use a aircon bracket/engine side torque mounts from a dc4/dc2/delsol? please also note i am wanting to adapt my d series compressor onto the motor
Thanks everyone

the D series torque mounts are different to the B series, there longer and bolts are in different spots, iv got a spare drivers side one if you need....not sure about the brackets, though i do recall reading something a while back that said eg6 b16a's had same brackets as the d series due to honda simpilfying things for eg, dunno if im correct though
Why don't you tell your daddy to comb his damn hair, look like some spiders is having a meetin' on his head.

The standard EG (D-series) torque mounts will obviously bolt up to the EG chassis but more importantly will also line up with the B-series brackets. You'll also need the AC bracket and Gearbox bracket from a B-series engine.
The trick to mating up a D-series AC Compressor to a B-series engine is to get the AC bracket from a CRV. I hear CRX del Sol AC brackets also work.

Sounds good
Sorry forgot to mention, i dont have torque mounts and brackets.
Just jumped on the kelpro site, The dc2r brackets and mounts would seem ideal at the stage, very similar chassis design and b series engine. The torque mounts on the dc2r are the same as the manual CRV.
I am wondering if i can get both brackets and mounts from a manual crv?
Also, is the flywheel cover at the bottom of the engine same as all b series? like possibly pre obd1 motors as they are super abundant in my area.
Thanks again

Mate
Do you mean the metal mounts that connect directly to the front of the gearbox and underneath the AC compressor ? Or the actual rubber mounts that sit under the front corners of the chassis rails ?

The DC2R AC bracket will fit onto your B-series engine but your D-series AC Compressor will not bolt onto it. As mentioned above, I have personally used a CRV AC bracket and it worked well.
I don't know whether the DC2R/CRV torque mounts fit onto an EG chassis, but based on AVID torque mounts listing one part number for 92-95 Civics & 94-01 Integra I'd say DC2/R torque mounts are a safe bet.

dc2r will not fit correctly as it has a center piece in the mount while eg's dont
i have the flywheel cover from a dc2r that will fit your b16a

Ah I see. They're like the EK mounts with the plate going across the top.
OP, just get EG torque mounts. That way you'll know they'll fit.
Pic I found comparing ITR to Avid

OK, cool thanks for all that
I have established i will be getting a crv ac bracket/metal mount, eg torque mounts. I am still slightly hazy about the tranny torque mount metal mount/bracket, i might just get the metal torque mount bracket from the crv too? in accordance to dorikin "You'll also need the AC bracket and Gearbox bracket from a B-series engine."

I don't know if the CRV transmission bracket will fit, you'll have to get someone else to confirm that or test fit it on your car if you can.
I do know that B16A and B18C brackets will fit, something from a DC2/R, EK4, EG6, EM1, etc.

ok cool, i will have a play around soon and post up the findings. Thanks heaps for the info
