I think I was considering the same tires haha I was told that they will fit but not well and the tires would wobble if fitted to a dc5 rim..so killed my interest in them..
ohh wow. 225 is pretty fat, especially for a 6.5" wide rim.
on my DC5R, using stock wheels I am running 205/50/16 Dunlop Semi's. Seems to work pretty good.
I think the 225 are a bit too wide, as on my CE28's I am using 225/45/17 and it seems okay!
Maybe on the stock wheels, I'd push to max. 215/45 or 215/50
I've driven a car with 225-50-16 tires on either 6 or 6.5" rims (stock tires were 205) and it felt weird, wobbly etc.
The tires were not semi slicks, some dunlops if I recall correctly
I havnt used a tyre size calculator, but a sidewall of 225/50 (112.50) is going to be the same as 205/55 (112.75) From that simple calcualtion, it shows u the sidewall profile is be pretty much exactly the same. I wouldnt go a wider tyre at all; well that wide. If you can find semi's in 215/40/45/50 go for it, but 225 is too wide fora 6.5" imo.
For me, I used 225/40 semi's on my 7.5" and 8" wheels.
ive used 225/50/16 on 16x7 rims on my dc4....
i could not lower further than standard height unles i got spacers and rolled my guards alot heres a sample pic:
Too wide for a 6.5" wheel. 225/50 is supposed to go on a 7.5" wide wheel. It feels wobbly because the tyre is too wide and the sidewall is overhanging the rim.
