Question [CU2] No new CU2's in Aust? - now with pics!

    Hey guys,
Been lurking a while researching a few things before deciding on buying a car. Over the weekend I went to a local Honda dealer to buy a new Euro. After not being able to see one in the lot, I asked the salesman where they were and he told me that he doesn't have any, and can't even order any in! I was a little shocked by this but he explained that due to the events in Japan, all the places that make parts for Honda got damaged and they haven't been able to produce any Euros since. He had no idea when they would be able to get any more in, or when the new face lift model will come out.
I took a trip to another near by Honda dealer (the first one is a smaller dealership) and was pretty much told the same story. I was after a Black, Luxury, Manual and after he called Honda's main office was told their is none in Australia. None of the dealers could give me an ETA of when stock will be available or when the new shape will be coming out.
Was wondering if you guys any any information or indication when the face lift model will be released in Australia at all?

Why dont you go to www.carsales.com.au,as I have just checked, and various dealers have 203 new Euros available at dealerships all across Australia.

Brilliant choice, but try locate one sooner...

    I've been all through there..
There is only 1 Black, Manual, Lux in NSW and the dealer said ''it's in storage''.

If the new model is just around the corner I'll probably wait for that...

The stupid thing is Honda has a "Run out" on the Euros now, and no dealer can actually get them..

What a pity,my dealer in Melbourne has 16 new Euros in stock, mostly luxury models in Black,Grey,Silver,or White, but they are ALL automatics...

Thanks for the info 1six8, fingers crossed it's a little earlier!

The 2nd dealer had a Black Lux that was auto... If it was manual it woulda been sold! He tried to source one but pretty much said there aren't any in Australia atm.

    Get an automatic...

Honda Australia have said local operations will NOT be affected by the earthquake.

All Euros are built in Japan, and the plant was closed from 11 March till 11 April, and now operating at 50 percent capacity, but production should be at 100 percent by end of the year.

Even the British don't have their hands on the new Euro!

As tempted as I was to go Auto, I much prefer Manual and would regret it for ever.

I was sure I read that local ops wouldn't be affected but I got the same story from both dealers..
