I like the sound of this. What's the cost for something like this?

I like bass and by all means I'm not an audiophile but I like my music. Dont want to run an amp. Don't need it loud to impress the car next to me though and I need the boot for all my crap.

What do people reckon of those?

    "17cm woofer/ 28mm soft-dome tweeter
16cm compatible shallow mounting adapter included
Butyl rubber surround for smoother response
    Glass-imide voice coil bobbin
    Single conex damper
Thick woofer basket for lower distortion
Light-weight soft-dome tweeter with neodymium magnet and magnetic fluid
    Outboard screw-type crossover (LPF: –12 dB/oct., HPF: –12 dB/oct.)
Tweeter level control (0 dB/–3 dB"

I'll need an adaptor to fit in to the stock hole right?

I had these running off a amp with dynamat door kit in a Civic Hatch and it was GREAT!

With a decent headunit you can get great sound out of these in the S2000.
I'm currently running Boston Acoustic RX Co-Axials with Dynamat and this rocks aswell. I'm putting in a subbox just to add a bit more bass and see how it comes out.

Whats a decent Head unit for less than $400 or there abouts? That would power those speakers/tweeters. Not keen on running an amp due to extra wiring, cost and weight.

I get a decent discount off Sony gear, but I heard they're shit. Any truth in this or is it just brand racism lol

I came across this on ebay..

    JVC KD-R905... it's got bluetooth, 2 x usb, ipod.

After doing research, it's about $70 cheaper than the cheapest place in Sydney that sell this (ryda)..

Nice that head unit is pretty good features wise. 24Bit DAC made from Ti/Burr ... whatever that is sounds good lol. E-Bay has really cheap stuff. I started looking in catalogues then your link reminded me that E-Bay existed!

I'll pair it up with these tweeters/6.5" 2 ways.

That seller also has Pioneer and Alpine head units which I take it are pretty good but none have the same features as the JVC for the same price.

    Good upgrade over stock?

Definitely good upgrade over stock.. this seller is awesome.. if you want it quickly.. you can use the "make an offer" and ask him to express post it.

I ordered it at about 4pm in the afternoon and received it in the morning the next day. Great communication..

I've got my 6.5" speakers running off this headunit and it is so much better over stock.

The only thing with this purchase is that i dont think it comes with warranty.. but he said that he's never had a problem with them and if anything goes wrong, to just contact him..

I could've went for a cheaper option but wanted to get the bluetooth function.. so cool.

I've been told for that price nothing comes close to those pioneer speakers, that seller also has free shipping. I might just buy a Pioneer DEH-5250SD off them as well.

Upgrade over stock = $510 for the parts

My mate told me not to go for the JVC (just told me Pioneer/Alpine is better).

speakers or headunit? sif go anywhere near jvc if your buying speakers. and almost all pioneer head units dont have an antenna terminal (for up and down only has the one for up and never goes down) although if you put it in an s2000 then you wont need to worry about that.

    My system will be:

Pioneer TS-D1720C 6.5" 2-Way Car Component Speaker 270W includes tweeters
    Pioneer DEH-5250SD Head unit

Yeah I don't ever listen to the radio voluntarily...my MP3 player plays music I like minus the talking...and it doesn't repeat unless I want it to. I really dislike hearing Rhianna/Kesha/Black eyed peas 200 times in 1 hour.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but what are some good bang for bucks speakers!
I'm not looking at getting separate tweeters though, so maybe those speakers which kinda have tweeters built in the center of the cone.
I just want something with moderate-good sound, but not too expensive. I just hate my speakers now lol.
