But cannot engine swaps :/ I know what you mean though, i know P-platers are the furthest from being perfect drivers.
you kunts are just too busy flippin burger pattys for me while im waiting in the drive through of mcdonalds in my s2k with my blonde bitch in the passenger seat.
I you get De sol or Teg +P plate. You'll get raped by insurance, pulled over by cops every 1/4 mile and crash when the vtec kicks in. Youll suffer the same on civvies but at least cheaper to insure...
Why will i get pulled up every 1/4 mile? Cops up here are downers, the only thing that matters to them is more cylinders, they would see someone in a modded teg and just go back to RBT'ing the 400000 falcadores up here >.<

my opinion is if you want a type R and can afford it as your first car then do it....
i did and have never looked back...
why buy something shit and waste your time with it when you know your going to get one eventually anyway....
ps i bought my type R myself (no help from mummy and daddy) when i was on myy red P's a the only times i have been pulled over by the cops is when i was doing something dumb which is like twice in the past 3 years.. so i wouldnt worry about getting pulled over too much.
True, not everybody has a crash , I mean they would not give you your p's if they think your going to crash in the first place. If you can afford a type-r get it , it's a great car with a decent package from factory. Why waste your money on a civic which your not going to engine swap and probably waste money on mods.
Everybody has a crash sooner or later. It's just a matter of time.
I did 123 hours of legitimate practise and still managed to crash. The crash wasn't entirely my fault (circumstancial) but it was deemed my fault and my car still got written off.
So do what I did. Drive a cheap and affordable care (I had an '86 Corolla carby sedan) and later bought a '94 Civic Sedan VTi and also a JDM CRX SiR for a weekend car now that I'm older, earning more money, and a better driver.
just get the del slow, learn to drive and upgrade to something better. on your P's you'll probably have a ding here or there and it's much cheaper to fix a EG or EK like previously mentioned.
also i wouldn't be dailying a Type R. thieves love to debadge them or if they know what they're doing, take the whole car, joy ride, crash and then steal your seats which is usually enough to write off the car.
i'd be leaving my R safely at home while i daily in something much much slower.

So true. This is why I drive a daily D-series Civic and have a JDM CRX for a weekender.
Yeah i probs will just get a del slow :3... Make that shit legit!
