    Tbh I love seeing any mods in this thread small or big. But I think as a community we need to man up and do some more performance modding! What ever prejudices you already have against our cars, i.e weight, slow engines etc...believe me when I tell you the r18 and z2 are pretty good platforms to improve upon. If you don't believe me just do a bit of research and you'll see countries like thailand and Malaysia with FDs showing off decent dyno numbers. And damn some of them look real nice too.

    If I may interject.. The reason why you find more people in Thailand, Malaysia and Indo can do more extreme mods than we are is because the cost, specially labour cost, to do engine swap or any mods really is considerably cheaper than us here (A LOT). Suspension fitting Indo:$50 vs QLD:$250, Full bodykit paint job Indo: $200 vs QLD:1000 you see my point..
    I would do more than what I have done to my FD if the manual labour cost is closer to those countries mentioned above..

    Good point but considering how much people are forking out on wheels...up to 3k per set it's safe to say if they wanted to they could afford it. I'm not saying that goes for all of us but I see members here swapping wheels and suspension quicker than they go through toilet paper lol

    Yeah just depends on what you want out of the chassis.. No performance for my car so just a couple quick exterior mods and that'll do til.

    Then spend money on the next car to actually get some speed

    I'm still getting around 8.5-9 per 100kms. Pretty awesome considering its not a hybrid and I fang it around ever corner.

    Anyway I was just trying to point out that our cars pull up some sweet hp numbers (expensive or not). I'm slowly piecing my car together bit by bit to try to achieve atleast 130+ kw atws. I keep changing my mind on ways to go about it but short of going forced induction which I'd really like to do, in the meantime:

    * 4-2-1 headers with hfc
    * 2.25-2.5" exhaust piping
    * rbc intake manifold or rrc whichever fits
    * possibly a larger tb to go with the rbc
    * tbs to go with the above two
    * change SRI to CAI although I like how much fuel economy I'm getting with the SRI
    * skunk2 stage 1 or 2 cams if I can afford them

    and thats it for now

    aesthetic mods I keep to a minimum because I drive 50km+ a day and the car always gets so dirty. I pick up so many dings from shopping mall parking and I definitely don't want to go lower than the stock ride height with the way I drive.

    lead the way xenonkuraz and people will follow.
    i think new car warranty on engine etc is a big deterrent..
    i know it was one of the main reasons i didnt mod the engine.

    and thats where most of my funding goes. its like having two mortgages.

    i forgot to mention that I will be getting a new muffler too.

    when the time comes i'd like to get the greddy kit with the t517z. my only concern is our ecu won't respond well to it and i'm looking for alternative options such as flashpro instead of using a piggyback

    after some research I'm swaying more towards a k20a than a turbo kit.

    Bolt on turbo's are headaches. especially seeing as the ones for america are made for american conditions, so they need to be retuned to work properly here. And with the lack of r18 support in australia, that would be hard.

    Tere are quite a few reputable r18 turbo kits out there and I have read of some tuners working with them in Australia. Afaik there are 5 turbo FDs in aus. IMO the only two troubles you would run into are:

    1. Difficulty tuning and
    2. Due to a difference in placement of some engine parts their manifold won't fit in ours

    After due deliberation and lengthy discussions with the mrs I may be able to place an order for the greddy or turbo specialties kit. Woot!!! But I have to let her buy a new jazz first...
