Jazz broken 12V socket / cig lighter?

    Hi guys,
Purchased a second hand jazz and the 12 V / 120W socket is broken.

There is a spring that sticks out of it, and tried pushing it in but it won't. Everytime I try plug in a phone charger or gps it flings back out.

I haven't seen a socket with a spring in it before? Is this standard? or previous owner played with it.

Either way, how do I remove it the socket for replacement? and any1 replaced one before?

you can access the socket by removing the centre console

    follow this: http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-d...t-install.html

there should just be a plug to disconnect the cigg lighter.

    Very helpful thanks.

Went to JayCar, and they have a generic replacement type.. any1 can confirm if such will fit?
Or would I need OEM honda.

i'm reasonably sure they would be the same, if anything you may be required to reuse the socket adapter which would require re soldering

Hey our Jazz cigarette lighter broke before. One day it just stopped working. Honda charged $45 for an OEM replacement including installation.

I recommend this route instead of DIYing. For the money + trouble saved I think it was worth it.
