    AUSDM EG with B16?

Was there ever an AUSDM EG that had a factory equipped B16?

EDIT: And were the AUSDM Integra Type R's the same as the JDM ones performance wise/what difference were there?

AUDM EG's never came out with B16A.
there were many differences between AUDM and JDM DC2R's, the JDM ones had the better front end and better engines. also in japan the DC2R's first came out in '96, then got redeveloped in '98.
so there are '96 spec and '98 spec. search up my friend

    no and no lol

    AUDSM EG's
    - EG Hatch Gl D15b4
    - EG Hatch Gli D15b7
    - EG Hatch Breeze D15b4
    - EG Hatch Vti D16y1
    - EG Sedan Gl D15b4
    - EG Sedan Gli D15b7
    - EG/EH Sedan Vei (3 stage vtec - dont know the model)
    - EG/EH Sedan Si D16a8 (hatch as well)
    - EG/EH Sedan Vti D16y1

thats all we got - the JDM market got the SiR hatch (EG6 with B16a) and SiR sedan (EG9 with B16a) both had more features and better trim than ours
there was also some 4wd sedan models - the RTSi with B16a and the RTX with dual carb single cam

    as for the tegs - the japanese had a 96' spec type-r and a 98' spec type-r
all of their integras had the square light front ends and both type-r's are tuned differently to ours
ours are similar to the JDM 98' spec type-r but still not quite as good
the USDM and JDM markets also got 4 door GSR/SIR (VTIR) and 4 door ITR

and i would debate the better looking front end - its personal preferance
theres a growing popularity for the audm/usdm pre-facelift shape Dc2
because there really isnt many of them around and they actually look very aggressive with type-r lip/skirt kit

    JDM 96 Spec ITR

    JDM 98 Spec ITR

    AUDM/USDM 98 Spec ITR

    AUDM/USDM pre-facelift in ITR guise

    generic 4 door integra

    Comparing AUDM and JDM,

What is the closest thing we have to "the real Type R" of both civics and integras performance wise?

  5. #5
it is just the looks that can be the closest. performances wise, if it is not a Type R, i will not be a Type R.
A good reference deserve a rep.

we pretty much got shafted for spec on the EG/EH civic - no B series model and no coupe

but we did get the VTIR EK civic - which has the B16a2 and is very close to JDM SiR
we also got the VTIR EM1 civic - which has the B16a2 also but the coupes are all made in USA
we get the VTIR integra - which is close to the JDM SIR/USDM GSR

we get the AUDM type-r which is close to the 98 spec ITR but not as good

you cant really compare any of them because each domestic market has its own rules and regulations and the cars are tuned/spec'd specifically for each country

the best thing you can do is try to source parts and build a replica or fork out the time and money to find/import the real deal

generally japan has much better fuel quality than we do so they can have better factory tuning - USA on the other hand has absolute crap fuel and they suffer from worse factory tuning
but USA get 4 door integras and we dont ... so it all evens out really lol

dont even get started on the newer civics and Dc5 integras - because its REALLY confusing lol

I got a question. Did AUDM DC2R come out in championship white? I'm pretty sure it did, but I never seem to see one on the streets in Bris. I only seem to see black, red and yellow ones.

Come to think of it, I have seen one on carsales. Still, they are rare as hens teeth. Why wasn't it a popular colour?

White itself isn't a popular colour.

Yeah I know about all that haha, what I mean is... between AUDM Type R's and JDM Type R's... which are most similar? DC2R? Not really interested in post-2000 Type R's besides the NSX

We never got an EK CTR did we?
    you serious?

Ask the general public... Black or White cars. Most people like the look of a black car more than a white car.
