im 20 and on green P's. Insurance is your best mod. If you cant justify paying that much for insurance then this is not the car for you. But anyway I'm fortunate that my car is insured under my parents business along with all our work cars so the flat rate for my insurance is $540 full comp including mods and my excess is $1250. The only downside to this is that my mums mazda2 is also $540 ($100-200 dearer than a different insurer) whereas my dad is paying the same for his c63 lol!
Better to shop around and compare quotes but i can tell you now $3000 +- $500. Oh i just remembered this has been discussed afew pages back if you wanna check it out!

I'm surprised they insured you at all. Not because you're 19, or because you've had your license suspended, but because you live so close to Macquarie Pass.

I would love to have someone, who really knows, tell us what different post codes do to the insurance quotes. Many of the stories here just don't make sense, unless it is where the car lives that costs a great deal.

I would guess they have a few write offs out here in the sticks, with some of our neighbours coming home from the pub occasionally, but there would be virtually none of those intersection bumps, that cost $4000 to $8000, to fix, & happen so often in the city.
