Who owns Legit JDM Integra Type R?

Hey guys, im new to this forum. Currently looking at finding a EM1 or JDM Type R.

My question is tho. who here owns a legit JDM Type R?? i was looking to import one but cant because of all the laws. eg. personal import rulen stuff. neways...how are you guys able to register and comply these jdm type r's? is it because they are all personal imports? or are they all complied through other methods. i have found a jdm shell and was looking to source a b18 to put into it. only problem is i wont b able to register it because of the chasis number on the shell. oh im from brissy. any info would be greatly appreciated

hmmmm...i dont think there is much difference in JDM and the AUS typeR beside the obvious of the front ender!! you can just buy the AUS one and do a conversion to the JDM front

yeh dont really wana do a conversion. ive already thought about doing that. Just cost bit too much to do conversion. i mean its round 2g just for the halfcut then gota pay to do conversion. thanks for the input tho. ive actually found a jdm shell with minor damages. but it has no engine. was thinking of buyin shell and fixing the body then sourcing an engine for it. but even when i do that. ive been told that i still cant register it because its jap.

well.....the conversion is less of a headache and probably would be cheaper as well....cause a type r engine doesn't come cheap either.....about 3500

if your lucky you can get all parts needed for front end and fitted resprayed for around $2500...

yeh i know the prices for a conversion. but im just wondering if anyone has a real jdm integra registered in Aust? and if so how??

yes there are real jdm itr's in australia. a few were brought in under the private import laws.

private import = you can register no matter wot it is. means u have to have owned the car overseas for at least 12 months, used it, drove it, serviced it, etc... and can prove it. that's how alot of other cars get here that cant be imported otherwise... ie old evo's, gtrs, etc...

people bring them over legally with there personal imports, thats how....
if u could find one for sale, then i think its legal... isnt it???
if u buy one off someone who brang it to aus as a personal import...

yeh i already know about the personal import laws. but would it be ok if i rebuilt one that was in an accident. like i said earlier, i have found a shell and that a local workshop has used for parts. i was thinking of buying it and then sourcing an engine then fixing up the car. can i comply it then? or is that not possible? sorry for all these questions. just wana get the right facts. oh im located in brisbane so neone know laws and stuff in qld and if they differ from other states?
