1. Hids are an optional extra on ep3s - being that most are C packs I believe ?
2. can all our cars be illegally complied ? I doubt it. HIDs must fall under a grey area in imported cars. In Australia new cars need washers and levellers as described above , and must be in projector housings too.

Who knows why ?

I can tell you why. As the cars become common to comply, holders of compliance plates become soft as they was swayed by the amount of compliance plates they are selling to dealers. Therefore many shortcuts are taken.

When I got my car many moons ago, it was used as test car meaning all parts were changed. Meaning I got STD eu style reflector lights, new Tyres, tyre placard etc... There's even a charcoal canister under the car! Bet if you look in to it. Most people get cheapest of cheap Tyres or even worn out almost unroadworthy like some I've seen.

So yeah, I'd say the ep's aren't meant to have hids when complied but due to expenses of changing such item, it conveniently gets overlooked! I could be wrong

so i measured the ep3 vs golf r today at the uni parking lot, looks like its abit shorter the golf so im wondering can you even have people in the back in the 5dr r if the driver has long legs?

and spotted ep3@ unsw parking lot, think it was Peter or whoever has ep300
