    b16b head b20 block in a da9

    hey guys i recently put a b20 crv engine and box into my da9 and was just wondering, if i wanted to but a b16b or b18cr vtec head on the b20 would i need to use a type r ecu and loom or can i use a stock da9 loom and just plug in a aftermarket ecu.

    If I were you I'd do an OBD1 swap and use a tuneable ECU, highly recommended for this kind of build.

    I'd also suggest using a B16A head for cost/availability purposes. Either of the VTEC B-series heads will yield good power in a B20 setup. Of course if you can get an ITR head or B16B head cheaply then the B16B head is the best option for OEM camshaft profiling, but if it were my build I'd just go a B16A and maybe upgrade the TB/IM to a ported ITR setup.

    You can use the stock DA9 loom, and wire in the extra vtec wires. Also change to a chipped vtec ECU to run the map. Thats about as easy as you're going to get.

    you will have to change a plug or two depending on your obd version. which you can get from raywire or xenocron.com

    definately would not use a stock ecu for a b20 vtec, doesnt make sense. would go a hondata s200.

    s100 will suffice if you're planing budget......
