Edit - I couldn't wait, plugged them into the rear indicators and they work perfectly! So assume the front will work.

thought this might be useful for those who are thinking of removing the amber bit on their headlights, got my headlight lens removed from the housing at a place that specialises in headlight repairs in Melbourne metro area.

Since I replaced my headlights with the UK clear indictor ones, thought I give it ago as I was not game enough to do it myself plus didnt have an oven big enough.

The place is called Headlight & Heaters in Abbottsford, VIC. Costs $40 exc GST to do one of the headlights, that is to REMOVE THE CLEAR LENS ONLY and $75 excl GST to RESEAL IT PROPERLY WITHOUT ANY ISSUES PLUS WARRANTY ON THE WORKMANSHIP should anything go wrong.

So far only took the lens off as was planning to do few retrofit mods to the headlight and few other things. Atm, took apart fully only one of the headlights and if time permits and what I can source then only I will put it back together.

Just thought might be useful for those in VIC who are planning to do this mod.

cheers for that. I actually got the details of that mob of another member here...gave them a call and they said bring the headlights down. Just waiting for a box of goodies that I ordered from Heel and Toe to arrive before I start ripping the front bumper off and take the lights off.

the tyre size is the determing factor , so having 19 rims doesn't make a difference when talking about speedo issues, other than that tyre sizes that closely match stock diameter tyres may be more rare in 19 and quite expensive.

You could choose from any of 225/40/19, 235/40/19, 245/35/19, or 245/40/19 all being well within tolerance. Not sure the 245/35 would match the 98 load rating though.
hmm so i have to worry about, odo, tyre diameter, rim size, offset, width, and now this load rating thing too? did i miss anything?
    wats the load rating?

Yeh you have to worry about all that and load rating. Load rating is how much weight each tyre can support and it has to be equal or greater to the rating of the tyres your car came with (the 235/45/18 on lux rims have 98). This is all about staying technically legal. You won't compromise safety or anything if you go to 93-94.
