We were able to dyno a car stock filter vs K&N drop in vs SRI and CAI.
First was a baseline run of the stock filter, peak power of 132hp@6000rpm to the wheels.
Next we replaced it with the K&N drop in and got 137hp@6000rpm, a gain of 5 horses.
We then tried a CAI, which turned out exactly the same power intake.
Then SRI, same results, stock power.
our final test consisted of dynoing the car, with the filter box open, in having the intake fully open. And it made almost the same power as the K&N drop in.
Conclusion: Honda did a damn fine job when it designed the intake and the stock airbox is not a source of restriction."
True true... I've got a k&n drop in panel filter atm and will be changing to a k&n typhoon sri tonite (diy install ftw). Will let ya's know more about it once it's done...
