    Question legit civic model?

just wondering if anyone can clarify this for me - looking at buying a car that the owner has advertised as a 2001 civic EK, but from my knowledge the EK's were from the 2000 range..he says that it's a limited/rare model.
can anyone vouch for this? haven't been able to find any honda info online..

Yes 2000 was the last year of the EK but what Im thinking is it might have early 2001 rego, like january feb maybe?

So it will be plated as 2000 still even though first rego was 2001

Ask the owner for more info or post the ad here so we can analyse it better

    Oh and welcome abourd

My EK civic is listed on RTA papers as a 2001 Honda civic. Though the build date was dec 2000 so it just means it was first regestired in AUS in 2001.
    Hope that helps you.

It's not exactly rare. Just one of the last ones they made

Ok after seeing the ad I wouldnt touch that car with a 10ft pole

Its got dodgy written all over it.
Its probably a 2000 model but the tail lights are from the older series 1 and I would say its had a few hits in its life.
Overall it looks rough. You can find a clean and tidy one Im sure with a bit of looking

    thanks

yeah i thought it looked pretty dodgy as well - damn.

is it worth looking at the older models - like a '92 GL EG? or getting too old?

The EG can be just as reliable so no its not too old from that respect.Looks wise some might think its old but thats subjective
Just depends what you have your heart set on really

It will be harder to find a clean immaculate EG compared to the EK though due to alot of them being bought and modified by enthusiasts, replacing the motors and so on

yeah, looks-wise i'm happy with the '92 ..more worried about buying a car that's coming onto 20 years old which is older than i am!
