For those of you who might be interested, I got a new aftermarket TDL D2S ballast for $100.
I removed the input plug from the busted OEM ballast and made my own wiring harness to connect the new ballast to the factory headlight plug.
Works perfectly and saved me $600 so I'm satisfied.
I took photos if anyone's interested in a DIY?
Nice, you should do a DIY write up in the DIY articles section. Would be useful for others who will get blown ballasts, seeing the age of the Euro now.
from what i know.. i think the higher the ks, the brighter it is but the range it provides is shorter.
That is incorrect. The higher the K (Kelvin) rating, the bluer the light. Typically the for the same power draw, the higher K bulbs are less bright than the bulbs around 4300K because there are less red and green wavelengths in the output.
Well, I bought the 6000K kit from ebay for my car, then bought 6000k bulbs from ebay and got the Honda guy to install them for free for me. Working great Real head turners.
This was for my '05 lux
