I never like this car from day one I saw it. It is just uglier than current civic.
The only reason they do not sell VTI version and sell the VTI-L version with VTI price tag is not because the CEO heard us.......it is because he knows the car got bad rating in US and need some appeal. And what is that???? The price tag. But it is wise to market the VTI-L and not VTI. Because the new VTI is plain ugly. My perception to Honda has changed in the last few months quite a lot. The quality been reduced quite a lot in the past few years. And the after sales service is total deaf.
I am sure most of us already know that Honda is running an emergency project face lift for this model. So I am sure this new civic will short lived. Engine upgrade is possible I would say as they got hit quite a lot in US.
Currently I own Honda Jazz first gen and MY10 Civic VTI. And most probably will not buy Honda anymore. Please have a look my post about the trouble I have with my Civic.
we might get sat nav when production goes back to thailand.
this civic is much better built than USA version, the quality in US was the let down as well as a crappy drive. our civic will drive very differently from the USA one.
I've received the mail broucher from Honda. The sport model come with R20 (2.0 version of R18 hence cutting down the fuel consumption to 7.4 instead instead of 8.4 on previous sport mode) instead of K20
More cost cutting, the standard "body colored car door protector strips" on gen 8 civic is now an option on gen 9.
An interesting point is that we get rear double wishbones suspension (gen 8) as opposed of multi-link suspension offered in US. Pedal shift is available on both vti-l and sport (not sure about hybrid).
