    Daughters Jazz

My Daughter had her '03 Jazz to the dealers for a service and the jobs to be done included rear wheel bearings...dealer quote $540 each. I priced them at Repco..$74
New coils as it is misfiring $920!!!
    A/C condensor leaking $900 My bloke $289.
Am I missing something or are the dealers taking advantage of her?
I think this old fella will be asking you young blokes some questions soon.
Please make allowances for the aged

when running a business, you try make as much money as you can, such is this case.

better to get 2 or 3 points of view before committing to something.

I'll do that. Most of my experience has been on heavy diesels.

im a mechanic myself..and in our industry we all know that dealers over charge wayy too much. its better off doing it yourself or getting quotes from other places (small workshops)...all your paying for from the dealer is a stamp in your log book. and there are good and trustworthy workshops around you just have to ask around.

WOWOW hold up rear wheel bearings should be extended warranty mate. i got my rear wheel bearings replaced FREE only just last year as its a known fault that honda is willing to rectify. for some reason when it comes to the CVT issues they arent so eager to help.

dealer's usually over charge well known fact.

the headlight cable issue was an immediate recall as it posed a possible immediate threat.

but the wheel bearing issue is only meant to be changed when they are on their way out.
however when the change did come honda was meant to replace them under special extended warranty. they cant just call all the jazz models saying u might have bad rear wheel bearings brin the car back.
but the headlight cable is something no one would have noticed so it had to be done
