teach them to fish so they can feed themselves.

I guess issue is the attitude. this goes for all, not just for the one side.

What sides are you talking about?

And it's not like you always did your own research either mate. You yourself have asked some simple questions that could have been 'googled' or addressed to a proper mechanic. Yet you chose to post here on OH first, and were given good/clean advice without being told to GTFO or similar.

We've all been there! And this is what makes people like you valuable to the community and to newcomers especially.

I don't always tell people to GTFO or similar.

depends if the issue has been covered numerous times before or not.

    Sides?

there are always sides, be it 2 or 3 or more. There is never one.

you know, like hot cold, left right.

this is not one of my smart ass replies btw, I truly believe this.

    Wow..

    Becoming very political now..

I have heard stories and seen ppl troll on members who were just trying to help and seek help - right or wrong who are u to judge and treat them lower than shit?

Especially if a member has been generally active, informative, helpful and people +ve them??

Instead these members get trolled at, spamraped, put down..

Instead be constructive and correct them with hard evidence nicely without being rude, sarcasms, calling names etc.

If ur going to respond use evidence rather than from your own personal experience. U cant really correct a person from what they have experienced and is just sharing it towards the question of the noob etc.

Face it u werent there to supervise them of how they should answer/respond??

    Cmon fellaz,

Were here to have fun, enjoy and welcome all sorts of stupid, lazy questions - were not here to heal to world.

If u dun like then GTFO of here and join yahoo answers.

somehow we're talking about newcomers, i bet these 'some' that have complained arent newcomers at all
    lul.

i do agree forum eqiquette should be a reminder to us all, getting off that wizardry pedal stool

Just a quick reminder that all though this is 'the internet', that some eqiquette is required when posting.

There have been some complaints against users and it should be noted that we will no longer tolerate deliberate attacks or belittling of members. We want to promote a friendly and helpful atmosphere on the site and anyone who cannot conform with this requirement will be forced to leave.

Moderators are aware of this and will be issuing infractions as required (especially for those with a previous history; yes we keep track).

there is no real account - this is the MAIN and only account - i have been a guest in OH for many years and i read up articles, DIY, and obtain helpful information when i needed help and the amount of trollers and spam i see is just tremendous - and i was only a guest.

i have mates who are old timers in OH, and they tell me the same, most of them dont even log on anymore due to the amount of crap going on.

so hence why i joined to help others who are in need and state my rights when required.

but most of all, im here to have fun, have a bit of a laugh at funny gif pics and help out others.

at the end of the day this is a community... not in the true sense of what the word used to mean, but what it means today, in a world where social interactions seems to be driven by text rather that speaking to someone face to face... as sad as that is it's true.

Let me pose a question... if you were amongst a group of associates, in the world as it should be, face to face, would you smash them with a stupid sarcastic comment when they ask a question for help? you may once or twice, but after a while that there will be consequences and repercussions...

at the end of the day this IS a community... and there are norms and rules... giving people a hard time everytime they attempt to seek help from a group of people who they know CAN help is not acceptible.

I'm all for light hearted, but there are limits... there's a huge depth of knowledge in our membership here and for the most part it works great, but no one has any right to put conditions (such as using the search button before you post) on being a helpful member of this community, this issue has been around since day dot... at the end of the day we are here to enjoy what we are passionate about

and if this little internet world and its traits are too much for you to handle, then maybe you need to consider new hobbies...

there this guy at work that never follow procedure when logging a job/request
first few times he would get funny jokes and sarcasm, after a while he would get rejected outright.
