ekdez I'm not expert but after I dropped some Eibach springs on the stock struts I noticed a very minor knocking sound from my front left strut when I was turning hard at very slow speed. Now at the time I figured it must be the spring not quite sitting in the right position. Anyway knocking went away and a few weeks later after a day a Wakefield I noticed the knocking was real bad.
So anyway I pulled the strut out, I then noticed that the nut had been moving around the the top hat (I had tightened it pretty well I thought). It was only when I pulled out the strut that I noticed there was a little triangle marker and I had it pointing out. Quick google search reveal it should been pointing in. Now I'm not certain that this allowed the nut to move, but the end result was both the thread on the shock and the top hat were stuffed. Both have since been replaced.
I also had my bumps stops making a popping/creaking sound when I put em on the Tokico's struts but they seem to have settled down and everythings gone nice and quiet. Amen.
