I am new to the car market, so I am not sure if the one Honda uses is any superior to the one after-market people use (is it?)...Any recommendation on where to get a reliable rear parking sensors done that is cheaper (I need it to be installed aswell)? Is there any risk in getting in done with someone else beside Honda?

Will it void any warranty with Honda?
After market will be fine. It will not void warranty. Try calling a store selling car stereos, they might be able to suggest a place.

Also try talking to your Honda Dealer see if they can do a better price. Ask the Dealer what brand they use. Have a chat to Honda Service Department as well, they might be able to guide you.

Rear Parking sensors are quite handy. It's not the best car for rear visibility when reversing.

Looking at buying a 2012 Civic. For those of you that have bought one with the reverse park assist - are the reverse sensors integrated with the i-MID display ? or do they just beep ?

Hmm. That's a bit disappointing... Looked at an online Civic manual, and it shows the reverse sensors are supposed to be integrated with the i-MID (showing which sensor is going off and the distance) - wonder if the dealers are cheaping out and installing some 3rd party system, and not the genuine Honda rear park assist kit

No, not a reverse camera. In the 2012 Civic owners manual, it shows that when you have the reverse sensor kit, it displays on the info screen, which sensors are being triggered and indication of distance

My dealer was going to throw them in the deal when I bought my Sport .. I politely declined the offer, the thought of the workshop Apprentice attacking my brand new bumper armed with a hole saw drill didn't exactly do much for me!

I have reverse sensors fitted by Honda, part of options new. Nothing comes up on display, there's a beep when moving to reverse indicating its engaged. Works fine.

I've read about 3rd of manual. I wouldn't say it specifically tailored to Australian model. Still does a good job of explaining.

The manual says the ECON button " helps improve your fuel economy by adjusting the performance of the engine, transmission, heating and cooling system / climate control system and cruise control ".

I've read a few reviews mentioning Sport has nice power over VTi-L. The VTi-L at 40km/h feels like it's hardly moving. Around town the car needs to be pussied as it feels it wants to go harder.
