10w40 Durablend is fine if your engine is getting a little old. Price is decent and it's easy to find in the average auto store. Apparently it scored pretty good in a 'shear' test a while ago. I drove Syd-Brisbane with the 10w40 Durablend oil.
I have also tried 5w40 Valvoline Synpower. no complaints.
If you're burning some oil with 10w30 or 5w30, there's nothing wrong with trying a Xw40 from a decent manufacturer.
For $1 less and you could get Penrite HPR 5 full synthetic 5w-40 ($46 vs $45)
