Red H Badge Yo!

I just recently found a pair of red honda badges for my teg and I have pretty much got the idea of how to get the existing silver H's off (hairdryer/fishing line etc) and the new H badges go on with double sided tape which makes it easy but i was thinking to stop water seeping in through the edge of the badge and possibly over time stuffing up the contact between badge and car, that I could use some sealer(selleys all clear or similar)around the edge of the badge to make it water resistant last a little longer.

and it may also make badging it a bit harder for those crooked theives out there. Any opinions? and or not necessary?? Would selleys all clear stuff up the paint etc??

Hey Flavzz,
IMO (and experience) make badging your car as easy as possible for thieves. Its simple to replace a lost/stolen badge ... but not so easy to fix the paint scratches/chips/gouges where the bastards were struggling with the screwdriver to get the badge off!

As for the selleys all clear ... I'm not sure that it would be necessary. I would've thought that the adhesive on the badges was desgned for that kind of environment (unless you're using a standard double sided tape ... in which case I'd say try find some suited to the job from an auto store or something). Selleys all clear sounds a bit messy and like you I would be worried about it's effect on the paint.

cheers mike, haven't got an intake yet, prob get apexi pod in a few months and make a custom heat shield and CAI

yes, ive been badged and i put super glue behind the badge thinking it will hold better, which it did, but the guys that badged my car took some paint off aswell...damn it!

theres absolutely nothing to taking off badges...

two words.... DENTAL FLOSS

i took my existing ones off becoz they looks a bit dodge, cleaned up the stickey stuff with sum orange goo remover and put sum new ones on.. makes the car look pretty clean again!

be careful with the selleys all clear because silicons are reactive to paint surfaces (ie. will cause rust over long periods of time) and very difficult to do a neat job also.
You would need the black silicon that isnt reactive that panel beaters use!
but then again it would look shit if you didnt do a really clean job with it.

my advice, use the proper double sided sticky felt stuff and cross your fingers that no one wants your badges enough to badge your ride. People that badge cars are the scum of the earth! almost as bad as keying! sooo disrespectful and unnecessary
