Love you idea od the H swap And do h2d sounds good idea to keep the cost down few Thousand dollors too

I would go the H2B as the b series box has better gear ratio's, stronger driveshafts and LSD option that bolt in for very cheap but see the point of going d series box look below

But going d series box in ed9 will be hell of alot cheaper to get the thing running, You may not have good ratio, you may not have lsd but on the plus side not Hydro clutch piping and master cylinder

I say once you got the thing runing enjoying it abit too start serching for another Gen2 DOHC L3 box get Mfactory gearset and LSD, Will like be 2-3k gearbox but will bw loads of fun
Or just buy Mfactory LSD put in for just under $1k

look forward to some update on your progress

Lil update guys... Just putting the box onto the block
Need to grind a fair bit off the back for the mid shaft to fit, hopefully be putting the engine in this weekend

After that its sorting out the bonnet clearance issue... I'm thinking about spacing the mounts so the engine sits a lil lower but we will see how it goes with the hasport mounts as is

so didnt get home early enough today to grind the block, hopefully tomoro...

snoop... i removed the butterfly valve from the intake manifold for added hood clearance now its just the valve cover to deal with. ive had thoughts of spacing the mounts so the engine sits lower, i think this will work fine and still have heaps of ground clearance as the engine sits high already ! just have to keep an eye on axle alignment

Can you space the hood so it sits higher, or remove bonnet webbing?

I know of a cf sir style hood to fit aus crx for 600 but running a cf hood or cutting the webbing is a noticeable defect... Trying to keep it streetable and defect free as possible.

Can space the bonnet... I would like to space it 1 inch max, this is with the butterfly valve in the IM and there is no chance of it latching so hopefully with mine removed it will just need a slight raise to clear the VC

Also going to look at raising the latch/rad support to gain a lil clearance in the front

so your sayinh this is not streetable?

Your in Qld their in QLD.
trail fit the bonnet if it works order it up. They'll make it fit to the stock latch. Its even an Si as well.
Paint it up to the stock burgany colour and your done.
