    I dont agry with the telling of the price range before viewing the car...

    people will think ur a tosser who will futher lowball the car if u agry to a lower price...

    i usually just inspect the car, offer my low ball and they usually seem to accept, although my lowballs are only like -2k off the asking price.

    i also tell people come inspect the car before you lowball so u dont futher lowball me when u come see it.

    Whether or not it is seen as low balling will depend on how keen he is to sell and on the overall condition of the car...

    (for 12-13k you're usually looking at a fairly dirty dc2r unless you are just lucky, 14k+ will get you an increasingly clean example...

    Speaking of condition, a few other things to look for when inspecting the car;

    tire tread and condition, and tire pressure can indicate how well the car is treated

    brake pads (should be at least 5mm or so left) and brake rotors (shouldn't feel much of a lip on the edge as you rub a finger along the rotor inside to outside)

    Fuel filter is easy to spot, best if it is oem

    Check radiator for dodgy patch up jobs particularly through the gap in the front bar (audm front)

    And I guess just general cleanliness of car and engine bay

    These may all seem like little things but they are very easy to check and would cost thousands if they all need replacing...

    Overall don't be afraid to ask lots of questions as the seller should be more than happy to answer them if you are a serious buyer...

    Hope this helps a bit

    HAving owned 2 DC2R's and looked at quite a few all i can is you get what you pay for. Nothing wrong for a paying a little bit more for piece of mind which will be well worth it in the long run. A cheap DC2R usually means bad condition, especially has ecumberence, stolen/wrecked.

    Yes, but you can check for encumberance, theft and accident history online, at least in VIC.
