Depending on application, alot of brands will do the job. The main different with ratchets of different prices is normally the internal strenth/number of the teeth. for example : i have a worth 1/4 inch ratchet and it feels strong and the teeth are fine almost like silk ( slight exaggeration but it is smoooth as ), i also have a TTI 1/4 inch ratchet and it feels just as strong but there are less teeth, which means it has to turn further for it to "click". Out of pure lazyness of not wanting to change ratchets i put a pipe over the tti ratchet for more leverage and was undoing fairly tight 16mm head bolts... You dont need snap on or other 'high' end brands to get the job done. At work a few of the guys have alot of snap on gear, mainly because we have a snap on van come directly too us and have 'sales' on selected items every month plus have a lifetime warranty on almost all items. I've heard great things about koken sockets, well priced and good quality stuff. End of the day its all about preference.
