Meh, could say the same for the other end too. Should not be messy under there unless the wiring has been tampered with (eg, dodgey alarm install). All depends where you mount the RSM. On the pillar, no point running wires from the other side of the car (ecu)...
Unless your using the RSM for wank value then i guess what ever method works will be fine...
Most installs ive done for a RSM on jap cars are to remove the 180km speed cut + wank value
