that's true with paints, but with lights, pure red and pure green make yellow

so blue and yellow makes white or grey

depending on the quantities of each

yeh its a bit confusing, with normal lights if you put a blue and yellow filter you still get green unless they are those absorbing/subtractive filters, im not sure about them
