there are reflector housings out there that are designed for HIDs they are mainly seen on more expensive cars such as beamers and mercs from memory they are D2R globes (correct me if im wrong) however these are extremely rare in aftermarket parts (not to mention finding one for a honda lol) so long as your car comes with halogen projector lights you can get away with HID conversion kits having said that its still not the same as the actual car coming with HIDs, due to things such as auto leveling and auto focusing lights etc

from my knowledge HID reflector housings reflect the light upwards whereas halogen reflector housing reflects the light out everywhere, which is why you get heaps of glare once you install a HID conversion kit

Funny enough,just got back from shopping.Was getting blinded by a car coming toward me with hid headlight and fog light... once it goes past,sure enough it was fd civic,I rest my case
accually the civic FD has 4300k HID's in japan. i think it's the blueyness from 6000k that can't be controlled properly
