Power steering whining only in reverse

For the past couple of weeks I've had a whining noise which I suspect is the power steering pump. However, it only happens under the following conditions:

    - Car has been sitting for at least a few hours
    - Have just started the engine (within the past 10 seconds or so)
    - Transmission is in reverse
    - Steering wheel is turned

After a few seconds, the noise goes away and it's perfectly fine again for as long as I drive the car. I don't get why it only happens in reverse. Does anyone have any ideas?

I haven't done the power steering hose recall yet, but the fluid is full.

i got the same issue as well but just ignore it. Is yours automatic as well?

I had an issue with the steering wheel making a whining sound when turning around bends and parked. Also had a whining sound when accelerating in 1st & 2nd gear at low rev (sounded like a mini supercharger sound). But that was caused by air in the power steering pump. So flushing out and putting in new fluid fixed that. So im certain if its just happens only whilst reversing its defiantly not the power steering pump or fluid. I think this is common for accord euros so maybe its to do with the transmission??
