Exclamation What does a 100k service involve for an 04 euro?

when my car idles it makes a squealing/screeching sound similar to what a fan belt makes when its on its way out & when i accelerate the sound slowly goes away.

Has anyone had this problem recently? just need to know what it could be so i can fix it.

Mine has same problem... and only occurs during winter...

Browsed some threads here and talked to my mechanic friend....
This happens because of the moist and makes the belt skips.... skipping = noise.....

the solution is to run the engine and CAREFULLY use dry cloth to dry the fan belt...
It is quite tricky not to get the cloth got caught by the belt....

WD40 makes the sound even lauder.......

For 100K service, it involves changing the spark plugs...

Not sure if this applies to an 04 euro but for the RB motors I'm familiar with it involves idler bearing, tensioner bearing, tensioner bearing spring, bearing bolts, water pump, timing belt, cams and crank seals, fluids, oils, filters, plugs and coolant.

No timing belt to change on a Euro. It has a timing chain.

Screeching could be the accessories belt. Check the tension indicator, the belt might need replacing.

Spark plugs usually start to deteriorate after 80,000 so probably need doing if they haven't already, replacing them at 100,000 is pretty common. Make sure to use the correct OEM iridium ones.

Needless to say, don't use WD40 on any accessory belt, it will cause it to deteriorate faster.

As well as fluids, they will probaly check all hoses and seals and replace as necessary, and check valve clearances.
