1999 CRV wet driver footing

Hi there - apologies if this has been answered before but desperately searching for an answer before we have to throw the car out.
We have a 1999 Honda CRV Sports. About a year ago, the driver side carpet started to get soaked after rain. We have checked everything - no hose leaks, no window leaks, no sunroof leaks. A week ago we had the windshiled pulled out, re-fitted and re-sealed and it is still leaking. I found similar issues on US web sites (passenger side leak) but on close inspection of the photos they provided, the problem areas in their models looked different to our Australian (bound) model. Maybe this is just a Honda conspiracy to make us buy a new car.

Did you check if your sunroof drain hoses aren't blocked?

Yes, the guy who re-fitted the windscreen checked all that for me. He poured water over the sunroof and it all drained towards back of the car without a problem.

Are you able to get a look at the drivers door wiring harness insulator? the rubber is all intact? has the driver door been replaced before? no damaged or holes to the rubber? you can see it behind the guard when you open the door

Not sure what the wiring harness insulator is but the rubber is all intact with no damage and the door has never been replaced. There is absolutely no sign of water anywhere on the door or the dash - only the soaked footing rug.

It might be your moisture barrier (s) behind the plastic trim in your door (s). I had the same thing happen in my 2003 Jazz and all i had to do was re-glue the plastic barrier in the door back onto the metal frame. Have a look at this link if you aren't sure what the moisture barrier is.
