Righto I've knocked up 3000km and did a track day at Wakefield with these Boomba engine mounts over the last 10 days. Gotta say the car is alot more enjoyable to drive, traction outta corners at the track was awesome with my speed was up by 2-4kmh on the fast sections. Also got a new pb and managed to destroy a Megane, Clio Sport, Toyota 86 and a couple of Puegoet GTi's at the track !! lol . They all has similar spec rubber. Infact the 86 had trouble pulling more than a cricket pitch down the straight ! I was suprised.

Now when I installed em there is an heap of vibration under 1800rpm that disappears but come back with a drone above 3500rpm and gets really loud at 6800rpm. Anyway the mounts seem too have broken in and reduce in sound by 50%, but vibration is still present so I've left the top mount in and removed the bottom one and put back the OEM.

So if you track your car or love to do really easy burnouts or love a car that vibrates and annoys other drivers and pedestrians then the Boomba engines mounts are for you !!

Yes I will re install the bottom mount before the Honda Nats as it only takes a few minute and is worth atleast 0.5 sec.
Same here with the vibration. I am considering injecting the stock bottom mount and using that instead. The vibration after 1300kms for me is very evident still. Sometimes I get frustrated with it, and sometimes I don't notice it.

The car does feel so much better with both mounts though.

Having a solid mount on the top and a "not so solid" mount on the bottom wouldn't cause any problems though, yeah?

Sorry to drag this back up, but either Stevil or DuffyFD did either of you guys use threadlocker on the mount bolts? .. was reading on 8thcivic that one of the users there used it to ensure that even vibrations wouldn't loosen the bolts :-S.

lolmclol having a ' solid mount' on top helps takes out the lateral movement which previously upset traction when changing direction, and yes it gives a tinge of vibration still at around 1300-1400rpm but its aint nothing like the 2 solid mounts together. The bottom mount transfer alot more of the vibration so removing and replacing with the stock mount shouldnt present any issues.

Didn't use thread lock on the bottom bolt, thanks for the heads up. My bolt was still tight as after 3000km and a trackday, I used a 20inch breaker bar and probably put over 100lbs on it.

Didn't use threadlocker but torqued enough and monitored the bolts too

    Guys,

intending to powder coat my Gram Lights. The gunmetal/polished finish is getting boring.

    Please VOTE:

    A> TAKATA GREEN
    B> MORPHEUS PURPLE

I'm inclining towards B...fav color PLUS I think it offsets the silver better.

    Here's a current pic:

    I say go purple.

Since we are talking about wheels, I need suggestions for my BBS RS theme. Was thinking of ceramic polishing the centres finely to get a full mirror polish look, and electro plating the waffle plates to compliment the gold bolts i will be getting. Here is a picture which shows what I'm going for. What do you guys think? Suggestions?
