Disadvantage on 2.5inch all the way exhaust?

I personally think, 2.5" exhaust is good from little bolt on mods to engine internals (i.e cams, pistons etc).... <-- 3" & you will make more power in the high rev range & will lose some down low.
3" if you are going forced induction.
