Primary O2 Oxygen sensor usually throws a CEL if there is a problem with it, check it out first. Spark plug should be checked, air filter might be dirty... Service the car..

Would check my O2 sensor as well as i'm not really getting "much" with my single carby eg. if I replace my cluster that has a CEL, would that work or if a car that was fitted (factory) with a cluster w/o a cell, doesn't really have a wiring for CEL? I know, I know it's a noob question.

Yeah hitting i-VTEC in an FD1 means hitting the economy can which improves fuel usage and worsens performance.

So actually you haven't been hitting i-VTEC enough!

As above have posted check your air filter and also try removing the neg battery terminal for 10mins. This should set your ECU settings back to default which may help.

Get the car serviced if really think there is a problem with it, if you can't afford to get the service, or don't want to pay for cost, consider selling the car and buying a bicycle. My experience: car serviced to logbook schedule, driven neither thrashed nor nannered, I've averaged 7.1L per 100km for the past 2 years/33000 km, with an average fill-up distance of 400km; worse performance was 8.5L. Some of the things i do: gentle accel. from a stop, and (if not in traffic) gentle decel. to a stop. Been using 95 RON, for better engine system health and performance (economy only slightly better). As mentioned FD1 vtec is for economy when you're up past 80 keep the revs between 1500-3500.
