If the diameter of your wheels is different from factory then your speedo and odometer will be out. This will in turn result in inaccurate calculations by the trip computer resulting in inaccurate consumption figures.

Maintaining the wheel diameter is very important hence why Jazzers with factory 13", 14" and 15" wheels are all the same diameter because of different factory tyres with corresponding aspect ratios.

For a more though explaination see the Car Maintenance Bible at

Yes.. not very far from there to Vic Market.. However, the reading shouldn't be that bad... The most you will get is probably 8.xL/100km that sort of distance constantly... Not 12.xL/100km.

Having said that, I think the trip computer doesn't like short trips..

Mate, the CAR doesn't like short trips. Until the engine is warmed up, the mixture runs rich, and the gear selection (auto) runs about 1000rpm higher than normal.

Starting the engine and driving it cold uses about twice as much petrol as normal. So figures above 10L/100km would be normal for frequent very short trips.... I don't think its too good for the car either to never be warmed up enough..
